A Game of two halves from Referee Mark Clattenburg, a ref I like, he is usually in control of his game, sadly today his errors were match defining, no Referee likes to see that.  Stoke started the game at a high tempo and did what they like to do, making the game as difficult to ref as possible, in the second half they were happy just to keep bodies behind the ball, watching Liverpool become more and more frustrated.

Shawcross and Skrtel both were guilty of greater holding in the box than that which led to the Stoke penalty, and Etherington was late and lucky on his challenge on Skrtel in the box.

No bookings in the game, something I struggled with, Clattenburg seemed determined to let the game flow and keep his cards in his pockets, even for incidents if dissent. Clearly he has not been watching other games this season where dissent has been clamped down on very consistently.
