Arsenal News » Untold Arsenal Manifesto
1. This site supports Arsenal FC and Arsene Wenger – the greatest manager Arsenal FC has ever had.
2. Because Arsenal exists within the context of world football, the site also covers significant issues from football which impinge on Arsenal, including football economics, corruption in football, the organisation of football, and the selection of players depending on accidents of birth. Other topics that are related to Arsenal can be added to the list.
3. The name “Untold Arsenal” is chosen because the site aims to cover issues and styles of writing not found elsewhere. In particular because there are many sites that express concern about Arsenal’s direction and progress since the Unbeaten Season, we are unswervingly positive about what has happened since then. Because very few sites explore the issue of humour within football (other than one line jokes) we experiment with that form of writing. (However because this can lead to experimental and somewhat obscure forms of humour such articles are classified as such, just in case anyone is in doubt).
4. The site avoids all forms of censorship in terms of correspondence except where it involves statements that are patently against the law, or could involve the site in a libel action. Untold Arsenal is totally against racism, sexism, homophobia, and fascism and will not accept any comment or article that promotes those or related views.
5. Everyone is welcome to submit articles or ideas for articles to the site. Articles must confirm with the points made above – our view being that anyone who wishes to put an anti-Wenger article on the internet has many other places to do it, and so it doesn’t need to go up here. We can’t offer to publish everything, but if an article is not used, we’ll try and explain why. Articles must be submitted on an exclusive basis – we normally can say yes or no within a couple of days, so please don’t submit anything to another site at the same time as to Untold.
6. We also believe that the history of Arsenal is vital and important, and needs to be recorded in a way that reflects that fans’ view as much as journalists views and the club’s official view. With this in mind we have launched www.blog.woolwicharsenal.co.uk and the Arsenal History project with Arsenal Independent Supporters Assn.
7. We recognise that many of our readers and writers are not native English speakers. Comments about other writers’ spelling, phraseology or any other aspect of their use of English are not accepted.
