7 OTHER Scholes Brunt C 1
9 OTHER Andrews Scholes C 1
12 OTHER Chicaritto Ridgewell C 1
14 OTHER Odemwinge Evra N/C Evra ran across him and stumbled over, it was never a foul, but did deny WBA a good position. 1
15 OTHER Evans Fortune C 1
17 OFFSIDE Chicaritto C 1
21 OTHER Fortune Jones C 1
31 OFFSIDE Chicaritto C 1
35 GOAL C Rooney 3
38 OTHER Tamaz Young C 1
40 OTHER Morrisson Welbeck C 1
43 OTHER Evans Malumba N/C Ok, so a british player has a heavy touch, the ball goes so far in front of him he has to chase it and jump in, Mulumba ends up on the floor needing treatment. The ref gives nothing, Ref shows poor understanding of the game. 1
43 YELLOW Evans N/C It was an easy yellow for the worst challenge of the game, Probert got this totally wrong. 2
43 OTHER Brunt Jones N/C The ball breaks to Jones who takes a challenge from Brunt. But the game should have stopped 1 second earlier for worse foul. 1
45 OTHER Jones Odemwinge C Jones deliberately breaks up a WBA attack, pulling Odemwinge back from behind. 0
45 YELLOW Jones N/C Jones was taking one for the team, he knew it was a bookable offence, but not with this Ref and not at O/T. The WBA fans boo in outrage, they know what is going on, footbal fans are not that silly. 2
Period 2
Min Type Foul from On C/NC Comment Weight

52 PENALTY Evra Odemwingie N/C Odemwinge goes inside Evra and is tripped in the box, right in front of Assistant, on his side, Ref has a good view, poor decicion making in favour of Man Utd again 3
54 OFFSIDE Fortune C 1
57 OTHER Carrick Morrison C 1
58 OTHER Chicaritto N/C He pushes a WBA player in the back who misses the ball, it runs through to Wellbeck who misses a sitter whilst the keeper looks on bemused by both the poor decision making and the worse finish. 1
63 OTHER C Good advantage played after a Brunt foul on Wellbeck, United break well and create a good situation. 1
65 OTHER Olsson Chicaritto C 1

You do these Ref reviews and you see some harsh truths. I have done a few games at OT now and what I see is that they will probably end up being crowned champions again. They are a very good team, full of talent, desire and ambition. But are they the best team in the league, are they worthy champions. Sadly we will never know, this is because the assistance they get from Referees makes it impossible to form a clear opinion, it certainly tilts results.

On this occasion Jones and Evans should both have been booked in the first half. The Irony is that Olsson was booked twice in the second half for two challenges, one similar to Jones, and one similar to Evans.  It is this inconsistency that results in an application of the laws that loads the EPL in favour of Man Utd.  Olsson walked of course.

Regarding the Evans challenge, I remember doing the Liverpool V Man Utd review at Anfield. In the middle of the park Spearing took a heavy touch, the ball ran away from him, he then lunged after it all studs showing, Nani saw it coming and jumped out of the way, so Spearing appeared to make a clean tackle, only because Nani is partial to having two legs I felt. Ramsey Shawcross came to mind as I did that review.

“His first touch is so bad his second touch is a tackle”

This time it was Evans, a heavy touch the ball runs away from him and onto an opponent, Evans flew through the air to get the ball, studs showing and Mulumba ended up in a heap on the floor, can anyone spot the pattern here.  Again no foul,  It was poor refereeing.  However the same Referee managed to spot every foul by WBA, every single one, quite a remarkable effort on behalf of Man Utd I felt.

This brings me on to something else you see when you review Man Utd at OT regularly. You are not allowed to show aggression, it will be penalised, most of all against Rooney, he is the Crown Jewels, he is the Bank of England, he is our one shot at glory, and he is untouchable. Refs understand this and behave accordingly.

Finally penalties, I know Man Utd fans will go on about the one Newcastle got at OT but, here we go again, as blatant a penalty as you will ever see, right in front of the assistant. The score was 1-0 at the time, and WBA had 11 men on the pitch, WBA were also causing Man Utd a few problems, Cue the pgmol, 100% incorrect decisions in favour of Man Utd.
