This was an easy game to Ref, a bit like our one at home to WBA. I was surprised at the lack of tackling, as I have been in a few games this season, is the EPL undergoing a fundamental change in how it is played, less brawl and more brain, I hope so.
Despite that I though Mason had a poor game, he was never in charge, and his score looks flattering, Rooney is definitely treated differently, the rules are, protect him, and don’t caution him. He is though a great footballer who was by a mile the best player on the pitch, from a central midfield position at that.
Big decision was over ruling assistant on the penalty shout, well done to Mason on that, the rest was just inconsistent and frankly unconvincing.
